Bridgeport

Family Matters Community Center  A structured program is offered which includes circle time, singing, dancing, interactive play, snack time, a children’s library, arts and crafts, and an outdoor playground. Ages 3-5 yrs. Also, adult support groups, field trips, and opportunities to meet other families in the area are available.  The Center is open Monday through Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 AM, with special programs offered during the summer.  Circle time starts promptly at 10:30 a.m., try to arrive by 10 so there is time to explore before circle (one adult must accompany child).  For more information call Brenda at 203-696-0787.

Giant Steps Toy Store  Free Programs.
  • Mommy and Me Story Time.  Ages 2-5.  Hear specially themed books.  Listen, Laugh, Sing, Smile.  The perfect event for you or your mom group.  Wed, 10:45 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
  • Baby Sign Language Workshop.  Ages 6-18 months.  Bring your baby for special bonding and learning as your child enhances his or her communication skills with you.  Tues, 10:30-11:15 a.m.
  • Baby Tunes Music and Movement.  Ages 0-2 yrs.  Children will delight in banging instruments, shaking maracas and clanging a myriad of instruments.  Older siblings welcome.
  • Mommy and Me Making Music.  Ages 2-5 yrs.  Bond with your child and create music.  Interactive hour of singing and music-making.  All instruments provided.  ages 2-5 yrs. 2nd & 4th Thurs 4-4:45 p.m.

Stamford

Stamford JCC  JumpStart Serving children ages 2 thru 3-1/2 with special needs.  Follows the pattern of a typical nursery school classroom, offering social and educational experiences.  A typical half-day session will include time for free-play, circle time, a project, snack, music and outdoor play.  For information contact Director Sue McGraw (203) 487-0966.

 Parent’s Place — Open to Stratford Residents ONLY.

  • Parent-child activity sessions for children ages 1 to 2-1/2 yrs.  Mon, 9:15 a.m.-10:30 a.m or 10:45 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Parent-child activity sessions for children ages 2-1/2 and older.  Tues 9:15-10:30 a.m., Wed 9:15 a.m.-10:30 a.m., 10:45 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Baby Time.  Parents and babies birth to 1 yr.  2nd Tues every month, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
