Connecting Families
Support Groups can become an essential part of your circle of support — the family, friends and professionals who’ve got your back through life’s ups and downs.
DS ACT forms family support groups to meet the needs of its members, based on where they live or work, and on their common interests. Current groups are listed below. Each group has its own rhythm and personality — check them out! You are welcome to join whatever group meets your needs best, or, we will help you start a new one! Step Up Walk Team Captain group – a place to share ideas and ask questions with other Team Captains
DS+ Mama Meet Up – to connect Connecticut moms of children with disabilities, through a monthly gathering
CT Down syndrome Dads Hang Out – to connect dads in Connecticut and share information about local hang outs
Regional Support Groups
21 Strong – a group of families located in Fairfield County, Connecticut, who came together because their lives have been enriched by Down syndrome
