We celebrate World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) each year on March 21st. The date represents the unique triplication of the 21st chromosome that causes Down syndrome: 3-21.
We focus on raising awareness about Down syndrome — the most commonly occurring genetic disorder — to counter stereotypes and celebrate the gifts Down syndrome can bring to those who embrace it.

Use Our WDSD Toolkit to Celebrate Where You Live
Encourage students at school, co-workers at your place of employment, or community members in your town to do an activity to celebrate WDSD! Our WDSD Toolkit is filled with activity and celebration ideas, coloring pages, and book and video recommendations.
Take pictures of your celebrations, artwork, bulletin boards, and socks and email them to us at socialmedia@mydsact.org so we can share your effort near and far.

DS ACT Book Donation Project
Every year the Down Syndrome Association of Connecticut helps share accurate information about Down syndrome through our book donation program. DS ACT members nominate schools and local libraries, and books are delivered in time for students to read on World Down Syndrome Day.
